This is an art form that originated in Northern Canada amongst the Cree & Dene peoples. The scales are fragile therefore few pieces are found in collections and museums, but with the use of modern materials, an acrylic paint finish make is durable. 

Paired with some Caribou tufting to make this piece a special way of combining two beautiful art forms.
