This mixed-media painting is a powerful contemporary interpretation of Plains, Indigenous symbolism, centered on a commanding buffalo skull that serves as both a spiritual and cultural focal point. The skull is adorned with red and gold markings, evoking ceremonial paint, sacred knowledge and ancestral memory. Surrounding it are richly textured fields of gold leaf that suggest both the enduring value of traditional teachings and the sacred teachings between land, spirit and community.
