T. Kiitokii is from the Blackfoot Confederacy in Southern Alberta (Piikani Nation).

A Blackfoot man stands in quiet reverence, wrapped in ceremonial regalia as he lifts his Thunder Pipe toward the Creator. The sacred pipe carries his prayers upward, asking for strength, protection, and balance for his family, his people, and the land. Around him, the symbols of the four directions remind us that all life is connected and guided by spiritual laws. The warm earth tones represent the prairie homeland, while the gold accents reflect the sacred presence of the Creator. In this moment of prayer, the man is not speaking only for himself he is carrying the hopes, gratitude, and responsibilities of generations past and those yet to come. The painting honors the Blackfoot belief that prayer is a living connection between people, the natural world and the sacred powers that sustain all life.
