In 1978 I was guided to become an instrument in helping to preserve and teach our Native cultural teachings and traditions. This took me on a path that has been life changing and full of many wonderful and unforgettable experiences and sharing of ancient knowledge, first as a student and then as the teacher. 

The many respected Elders that were so willing and anxious to share their knowledge and gifts will always hold a special place in my heart. Unfortunately, many of them are no longer of this earth but I feel they smile upon us as we continue the process of making what I refer to as the elite of all leathers. The procedure in this booklet is as it was passed on to me.
