Strike-A-Light Pouch with Turtle Beadwork. Made of smoked tanned moosehide. Embellished with deer dewclaws.
They were originally used for carrying fire making supplies (flint); it is now often referred to as a tobacco pouch.
The fringes represent the rays of the sun - essential to all life and the tin cone danglers invite the "Good Spirits" to walk with us.
5" high (9 1/2" total with fringe) x approx. 4" wide.
