Traditional Beadwork

Join in with the growing number of people who are finding beading to be a relaxing, centering experience.  Learn one or more of the various methods of beadwork:  Applique; floral or geometric, Lazy Stitch, Loom or Peyote

Fish Scale Art

This is an art form that originated in Northern Canada amongst the Cree & Dene People.
The scales are fragile therefore few pieces are found in collections and museums.
With the use of modern materials, an acrylic finish makes it durable. Create your very owed framed work of art.

Talking Stick

In the medicine wheel teachings, we honor the four directions and the elements of earth, wind, fire & water. These will be incorporated into these sticks: when used with intent it will assist in neutralizing negative emotions and help you to speak from the heart.  Create your own talking stick and learn how to use it in ceremony & meetings.

Dream Catcher Making

Learn how to make your own dream catcher for yourself or a special gift.

Moose and Caribou Hair Tufting

This is an art form that originated in the NWT.  The hair is sorted and dyed then sewn on hide or velvet to create floral pictures.  It can also be applied to moccasins and garments. This is a two day workshop.

Ceremonial Drums

Create your own ceremonial drum that will assist you in tuning into your inner voice and the vibration of Mother Earth.  Drumming raises your inner awareness, brings healing, and helps to build community. This is a two day workshop.

Advance Beading

A beadwork session, bring your project that you need to finish, or tips on how to start.  This tutorial is geared towards YOU- on what you want to learn, any type of beadwork is available for tutorial.

Porcupine Quillwork

Learn the ancient art of applying porcupine quills on garments, bags, footwear etc.  This is an art form that has become almost obsolete.  Become a part of reviving it. This is a two day workshop.

Moccasin Making

Make yourself or your loved one a pair of moccasins. Decorate with beadwork if you already have the skill and finish in a variety of styles.
This is a two day workshop.

Must have basic hand sewing skills.

Medicine Wheel Teaching

By learning about the wheel, we gain a deeper respect for Mother Earth and all that exists. Through understanding the travel around the wheel, we bring life-giving changes into our lives and into the world. This workshop gives insight into the ancient teachings and protocols around ceremony of our First Nations people.  From birth to Elder, learning to balance mental, spiritual, physical, and emotional being and connecting to your spirit guides/power animal is all part of the journey. Feast and lunch included.

Class Cancellation Policy:
A full refund is given if a course is cancelled by Moonstone Creation. An administrative fee of $25 will be charged for each withdrawal request; however, the administrative fee will be waived for a transfer to another course.               Refunds will not be issued for any transfers.                                                                                                        Refunds will not be issued for any withdrawals processed within 5 business days (Monday-Friday) of course start. Refunds are not issued once classes have begun or for non-attendance.                                                                        Some exceptions may apply.
